About This Site

This site is a resource for campers.  Use it to find out first-hand information about a campground you would like to visit.  Use the menu on the right to select a state (other countries will appear there when the reviews come in) in which to find a campground.  Each campground review is a post on this blog.  Each review contains a series of 12 short statements about various attributes of its tent sites and grounds; and then a narrative review of the author’s stay (a paragraph or two).  See our Review Template Page for a more thorough understanding of how the reviews are written.

Since this site is intended as a resource for others, we strongly encourage anyone who has camped anywhere (any campground that is open to the public, that is) to contribute their own review to this site.  Go to our Contribute Your Review Page and collaborate with us.  you can also add your proverbial two cents by leaving comments about any specific review on our site.

Having multiple voices author the reviews will also help this site get away from our (the creators of the site’s) predjudices: though we love to hike, we would happily trade long amazing hiking trails for a tent site that we can lay in a hammock for three days surrounded by trees and a creek and not hear or see other people.  Your contributions can make this a more well rounded source of information for all campers, rather than a place for someone to push an agenda.  For more information on what this site is not, see the Policies Page.
